Why in the world would I want to live in Artesia?
It is really, really close to the academy.
It has a Super WalMart with food center (booze, too, but try to find a checkout line with an legal age checker!).
It has its own refinery (whoopie doo).
It is closer to Roswell and Cloudcroft than Carlsbad.
It has a veteran's clinic.
There is probably a lot more that I don't know about. Check with the Artesia Chamber of Commerce.
